JOB REQUIREMENTS

Senior Lecturer                –      Ref.   1/4/5/1

For appointment into this position, applicants should:

  1. Hold a PhD Degree or its academic equivalent in the relevant field with at least three years of teaching experience as a lecturer at university level and continued research as evidenced by a minimum of thirty two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least 24 should be from refereed scholarly journals in relevant area.
  1. Hold a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least five (5) years of University teaching as a Lecturer and continued research as evidenced by a minimum of thirty two ( 32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least  twenty four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals in relevant area.

Lecturer                            –       Ref. 1/4/5/2

For appointment into this position, applicants should:

  1. Hold a PhD Degree or its academic equivalent in the relevant field
  2. Hold a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least three (3) years of University teaching as an Assistant Lecturer/Tutorial Fellow and continued research as evidenced by a minimum of twenty four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed scholarly journals in relevant area.

SCHOOL OF PHARMACY

  1. Laboratory Technicians in Pharmacology                        –  1/4/5/3

For appointment into this position, applicants should:

  • Must hold KNEC Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a Pharmacy and Poisons Board recognized institution.
  • Must have at least three years  demonstrable experience in similar position
  1. Laboratory Technicians in Biochemistry                       –      1/4/5/4

For appointment into this position, applicants should:

  • Must hold Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry,
  • Must have at least two years and above experience in teaching Laboratory.

 SCHOOL OF MEDICINE & HEALTH SCIENCES

CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR IN NURSING                       1/4/5/5

For appointment into this position, applicants should:

  • Hold Sc. Degree in Nursing, with at least three years clinical experience
  • Must have a valid practicing License with Nursing Council of Kenya.

SKILLS LAB COORDINATOR IN NURSING       –    1/4/5/6

For appointment into this position, applicants should:

  • Hold BSc. Degree in Nursing, with at least three years clinical experience
  • Must have a valid practicing License with Nursing Council of Kenya.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN/INSTRUCTOR IN NUTRITION AND DIETETICS    –       1/4/5/7

        For appointment into this position, applicants should:

  • Hold BSc. Degree in Human Nutrition & Dietetics, with two years work experience.
  • Registered with Nutrition & Dietetics Institute (KNDI)
  • Must have a valid practicing License.

REMUNERATION AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Appointments to the teaching positions will be on permanent and pensionable following a satisfactory probation period of six (6) months. Appointments to the administrative positions will be on five years contract, renewable on mutual understanding.  A competitive compensation package will be offered to successful candidates. In addition to teaching and academic management, successful candidates for the teaching positions would be expected to drive research, consultancy and outreach. They are also expected to provide inspired and innovatory subject leadership and mentorship to students.
